Victor Harbor is home to the pod of Aussie pelicans pictured on this site and to a wealth of other indigenous birdlife - magpies, rosellas, galahs, corellas, honeyeaters, wattle birds, black swans, sooty oyster catchers and, of course, the famous little fairy penguins. See http://australian-animals.net/magpie.htm
Victor Harbor is strikingly beautiful but it has a sad history insofar as it began as a whaling station. That industry failed. The whales gave it a wide berth until recent years when they started coming back to add to the many attractions which make Victor a popular tourist destination.
